Now the Chinese manufacturer NiteCore presented an alternative battery with the same performance, which can be monitored with an app and offers some electronic refinements which are designed to protect lithium cells and will extend the life of the battery. Even firmware updates via app are provided to make about the compatibility with newer cameras. The NiteCore NFZ100 is currently only in the shop of the manufacturer Advance order for 45 USD, will be offered but probably later through Amazon.
With the app NNERGY the state of charge and the voltage of multiple batteries can be monitored, in addition, the charging cycles are recorded. If the "storage" mode, the battery automatically discharges up to 70% if it has not been used for more than 10 days to extend the life of the battery cells. The optimum charging condition for storage is between 60% and 80%.
In addition to an electronic circuit in NiteCore NFZ100, the "Power Balance Circuit", ensure a long service life. Added protection circuits against overload, deep discharge, excessive current, over-voltage and short circuit.
The NiteCore NFZ100 is compatible with camera models: Sony α7 III, α7R III, IV α7R, α9 (ILCE-9), and α9R α9s. For the fastest possible charging NiteCore recommends that you use the original Sony charger or NiteCore USN4 Pro. For more information, here.
